It had been a while since our last update. My Mum arrived out on the 6th Feb and we then spent the next week showing her around, celebrating her 78th birthday, meeting people and generally having a good time. We then set off sailing down south for a week, spending a night on St Vincent, Bequia and Mustique before reversing the journey. We had fabulous weather and some great sailing. We met up with old friends en route, including Bill Rimmer (Jeff crossed the Atlantic with him in 05), who was on his way back to Grenada.
The land sale is complete and health has approved our plans. We need final permission from one more department and then things should get moving. We are investigating the possibility of beginning excavation this week as the heavy machinery is available and in the bay doing other sites- however this is St Lucia.
Skype has been a bit hit and miss recently but we had good chats to people this morning. Our next visitors aren’t until May but we have sailing friends passing through, including John Bransom from JSASTC in March.
Mum leaves on Friday after a most enjoyable visit. The hard work will then begin as we will start on the rest of the plot and get some fruit trees growing whilst the other building takes place. The vote for the papaya tree is over...Jeff accidentally torched it with one of his bonfires!
